HOT AIR BALLOON

THIS IS WHAT I WOKE UP TO THIS MORNING.....What a wonderful site to be woken up to!
Many mornings between 6 and 6:30 a.m. we are awakend by a 'phooosh, phoosh' sound coming from outside and we know exactly what it is....HOT AIR BALLOONS!

We live very close to our very little airport and they offer rides daily.

We also live at the top of a very high hill, and the airport is only blocks away so by the time they are up there, actuallly they are only like yards and yards above us so we can see them clearly...many a mornings we go out to the driveway and watch them go over. It's a site I never tire of.

Actually the closest one we ever had was on the 4th of July and we actually could see and talk to the people....what a treat.

Here's the picture I snapped this morning!

  5. Oh, what fun to wake up and see a hot air balloon out your window! We had one once when I was still living at home. It came down so low in our neighbor's yard that the basket started to dip in their pool before they filled it with hot air and took off again!
Thanks for sharing your fun photo's and story! Hugs~ Birgit

  7. Karen,

How beautiful that is! I would love to see one passing over my house, but I'm not so sure I'd love to be IN it! I have a fear of heights! Beautiful shot of it!

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Karen,

We missed that when we were at your place...too bad. Jim went on his "dream" ride last year for his birthday. He loved it. I was in the spotter car watching from the ground. That was fine with me. They are awesome to watch and so exciting to be around. I fully understand your excitement every morning they go up.
