Well it has been a long dry spell here hasn’t it? Sorry bout that but wow what a few weeks it has been.
First Darren’s surgery, then us off to PA for a week and while gone the orders just kept coming in (yeahhhhh) and it has been busy here since.
Doug’s cousin came here last Sunday and Monday and made out 200 invitations for our IN HOME SHOW the end of the month…what a sport she was….nothing is logged onto the computer so she hand wrote all the addresses.
One of these days I’ll figure out how to get them into a program so they can be put on mailing labels…ANY SUGGESTIONS.
I tried Works but that didn’t ‘work’….plus she helped bag up some things and rip homespun for ties and fabric squares for bundles.
She was a God send I will say. Wish she could come back this coming Monday!
Needless to say I have been at work sewing daily while Doug works on displays and getting things mailed out and all the little things I don’t have time for like EVERYTHING! LOL Bless his heart.
Here’s one of his projects. I wanted a guide line for our guests to come into the show so they didn’t scatter – the checkout and entrance are in the same area this year so it was needed.
I wanted Candy Canes in pails but couldn’t find any at all – seriously – NO CHRISTMAS PAILS ANYWHERE WE LOOKED…even at wholesale. So he came up with this.
He cut some 4x4’s in equal lengths, bored a hole, wrapped them in red and white duct tape and WALLA….look what we got.
Oh I bought the candy canes at IN GRANDMA’S ATTIC in Lancaster in her new WHOLESALE shop she has out back in the barn…you just gotta go there girls! It’s on Rt. 30 in Kinzers – about 6-7 miles east from the outlet mall.

Here’s a close-up of the tag and greens.
When we put them out we will pull them further apart and it will work just great. Oh, the candy canes are fabric wrapped and I paid $7.50 each
And we found the white and red plastic ‘paper’ chain at the Flower & Craft Warehouse up in Blue Ball, PA – which is owned by CDM Wholesale in Leola.
Last week I was cleaning and put things on the dining room table and as expected our little Lola had to be part of it – she climbed into the handle area of the basket. I left the items there for a couple days and that’s where she slept.
BasketPam….lola loves your baskets too! I just have to tell you this.
I made several of these 16 inch mats for my show and just finished them up this week as well. I have the long runners similar to it.
I ordered this adorable pin keep and box from Jen of Taylor’s Farmhouse Attic Blog – isn’t it the cutest?
And in the package she included the most thoughtful gift for me and Doug – an Anniversary box with our names and the years we have been married (46) THANK YOU SO MUCH JEN!
I had this post all done and had several people reading it and realized I had forgotten to put the Halloween picture of Aidan on here….one of his aunts had sent him this little outfit from Mexico and it fit this year for Halloween….Isn’t he a hoot!!!!
It’s a little grainy because it came from their camera phone.
I think that’s it for now – I’ll try and be more diligent in showing up but can’t promise….the show is fast approaching!
Thanks for visiting and I’ll make my rounds in spurts.
Hugs, Karen

Hi Karen!
I just put my mailing list on my computer...super easy (after years of handwriting...I am loving it!) All you need to do is go buy some address labels for your printer and take a look at what the "model number is ...example 8760, go to avery.com and look up the template to match that number and click download and ta-da! Now..of course I had issues when I tried it the first time so I just called up the toll free number and got a gal who walked me thru setting it up om mircosoft word! That is waht I would recommed. It's such a time saver now!
Oh...and I love everything you have! I want to be there sooooo bad!
Beth

What Home Show at the end of the month? This is the first I have heard about it. I havent been around much this week. Tell me more. Would love to come if at all possible.
Do you have the details posted somewhere? Let me know.
Take care.
Luv always, Tam
Love your penny rug, & your grandson is adorable! We made those candy canes for our Open House and then sold so fast. We sold them for $10 decorated and $5 undecorated. Have only a few left of the 50 or so that we made. Last year I made little ones and put them in mason jars with some greens and glitter for gifts. Fun and easy to make.
