When will Spring get here!!!

I’m serious about my ‘heading’ statement…it’s cold here today.
When I woke up it was only 33 degrees! Seems we get a day or two of 70-80’s and then it drops drastically to the low 30’s…I WANT SPRING AND SUN!

I saw that our Service Berry bushes had buds on them earlier this week and overnight they popped out…I couldn’t get there fast enough this week to take progress shots so did it last night.
These are my two favorite of all time bushes we have. First they get this wonderful white flower and then a huge red berry that the birds just love.

In a couple days these blooms will be a lot fuller and hopefully I won’t
miss it  before the wind blows the flowers off…which happens very quickly….they are a short lived flower.
That’s about all the Spring flower we get because we have so much shade – our plantings are mostly shade and don’t bloom till early Summer – so I cherish these pretty white flowers

What an outpouring of comments on my last post…THANK YOU ONE AND ALL – I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE RECEIVED SO WELL – 77 comments - and to think 99.9% of you think the way I do – I was amazed…and very scared to post it but it was something I needed to find out.

Here was the last comment from my previous post –
it’s from Dale Elizabeth and she’s so right.
Dale Elizabeth said...
“Wow Karen....I think you hit a nerve...LOL
I am with you...even when I try Face Book, I end up "writing on my own wall?", when I think I am talking to someone else! I am no good at it, and it is too fast and impersonal. I want more more more than that gives. I think for the young, fast paced techno crowd who are used to texting it's a hit.”

FOR THOSE THAT LOVE IT AND USE IT REGULARLY AND USE IT FOR
THE GOOD IT’S A WONDERFUL THING
and I’m happy it’s out there for those people.
I’m just not one of them….

So that said I THANK EVERYONE OF YOU FOR SUCH A
WONDERFUL OUTPOUR OF THOUGHTS AND as

”Thought provoking posts like this are good!
It gives us a chance to voice our opinion in a friendly zone!!”
I totally agree.

 Bring on the sun

Yesterday we got another chance to see our friend Linda (from St. Kitts)
Yes, she’s back again after being here the end of March for
her father’s funeral.
She had to come back to Raleigh, NC for her one year
Cancer check up – which by the way she is CANCER FREE!
And then her and her sister Laura flew up here to be with their other sister Mary, and we all met at a favorite restaurant for drinks and appetizers and hugs and kisses before she has to head back home to St. Kitts.

previous post….go see Marcia at http://higglersnotch.blogspot.com/
She is new and would love to see you come for a visit
Higglers Notch

Not a lot going on with me right now – want to get my Spring
flowers and my flag out on the deck porch this next week if the weather stays nice that is….I’ve been looking at all your pretties and am getting over anxious now – power of suggestion you know…gotta do it!!!

Have a pleasant weekend
Hugs, Karen

I don't think I left a comment on your last post (CRS, you know), but I am "Facebook stupid". Someone left a comment on my wall, and it must have taken me 20 minutes just to find it...lol!
What wonderful news that your friend is cancer free!
The weather in northern Ohio is lousy, too ~ chance of flurries with low 30's tonight. I hope it doesn't get too cold and harm the plants.
I'll check out the new blog.
Pug hugs to keep you warm :)

Hasn't it been bitter cold and windy lately? Hard to take after the 70s we had. So happy for your friend Linda. Love the picture of all of you. Have a good weekend.

  4. Karen, I didn't get to comment on your last post either as I was "reading at work". I started facebook I think about the same time you did. I have heard the same from some others about how you can't just visit and chat. Impersonel. What I do like about facebook is the place for us gals to show off our prims. That is primarily what I am there for. Love drooling over everyone's eye candy. Seems I can't get enough. If I had a choice I would stay with reading the blogs. I don't think you should feel bad about asking at all. Glad you feel the way you do as I would miss anyone's blog that I follow if they gave it up for facebook!

  5. Well, it may not feel like spring, but your pretty pics sure do look like spring! It's been cold here too...we had snow yesterday and last night...YUK! After having those 70 and 80 degree days that was a real bummer!
Wonderful news for your friend!!! Great group photo.
    Enjoy your day, Karen.

  6. I'm trying to simplify my Facebook excursions..just go see who and where I want to see and not let myself get chased or led around. I am perfectly content on my blogger dashboard reading updates to the blogs of my favorite bloggers, which by the way keeps growing everyday. Bring on the sunshine.
    Blessings,

  9. Hmm, your favorite restaurant looks like a great Wisconsin bar to me. That would explain why all of you look so happy! The wind off the lake makes it winter-like here today. I plan to snuggle up with a good book an keep my eye out for spring.

  10. Oh those bushes are just gorgeous!! I can see why they are your favorites! And then to have red berries - it can't get any better - unless they stayed in bloom longer!

Fun with friends - a wonderful way to spend time!!

And as one of the .1% who actually took the time to say we do use FB, I thank you for being a friendly zone. Sometimes when I see opinions on blogs, it is written in such a way that I would never voice my opinion when it is different from the author. You on the other hand, left room for us to do that just - so again - thank you!!

And I'll see you here and in APP!!

  16. I am bummed....82 degrees Friday...Snow on Saturday. My dear Aunt just had one kidney removed due to cancer..everything should be fine for her future. How unlike my 35 y.o. cousin who had breast cancer 3 years ago and now has had brain cancer for 18 months. What an awful dis-ease. Hope Springs eternal!

  17. Darn cold here in Ohio too Karen. We even had spits of snow a couple of times yesterday. My daughter had her softball pictures Saturday morning outside and you needed to be wearing a winter coat while waiting. I'm so afraid the blooms on my Weeping Cherry Tree and my Rhodendron Bushes are going to be lost if it freezes again. It makes me so sad.
Wonderful praise report on your friend. May the Lord continue to bless her and keep her cancer free.
    Hugs,
    AMY

  21. Hi Karen,

Just trying to catch up on my blog reading after being gone for a few weeks. Great news about your friends cancer!! :-)

Just read your Facebook post too, and I agree with your sentiments also. I like facebook to keep in touch with my family that is spread all over the country, but other then that I really can't stand it, but to each their own, and what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. We are all different. ;-)

    Have a great week.
    Prim Blessings,
    Kim
