Perfect Wedding Spot and Bragging A Little Bit

We took a ride today to visit the place of my Nephew’s wedding this coming Saturday.
We know where it is but our granddaughter and her boyfriend are going to follow us there because her parents are both in the wedding and have to be there early so we wanted to be sure we made the right turns so they can get back home if they don’t follow someone.

The wedding is going to be outdoors at Millie’s Pancake House in the garden.
Here are just a couple pictures of the place…it has been in business for as long as we can remember and reminds me of Pennsylvania…actually it’s all Pennsylvania Dutch cooking.
We didn’t have our camera so these are from their website

So please pray for good weather and no Mosquito’s!

While we were there we took in lunch…and it’s still as wonderful as I remember.

Oh…. I finally get to have the shots in my lower back and hip.
Can’t remember being excited about getting shots!
But it sure will help the pain – I get my first one next Wednesday and then 2 weeks in between the next 2 for a series of 3 shots all together. So by the third week of October I should be feeling pretty chipper – ready to run a race…I think not!

I don't post photos of my grandchildren on a regular basis but I just became friends on Face  Book with my granddaughter, Alexandra, and looked at her photo album....I snagged some pictures of her that I didn't know she had...I Love Them...so now I'm going to brag.

Alex is the sweetest, most sincere young lady I know and she's not afraid to wear her 'granddaughter heart' on her sleeve for all the world to see and hear....

She works at McDonald's and sometimes Grandpa will run in just to buy something to see if she's working and if she is and she sees him she doesn't care who's around...she yells out
HI GRANDPA...I LOVE YOU!
And she does it every time we see her out and about... plus I think she's just a little beauty at 17!

So here's my special Alexandra!

  2. Oh Karen Sweetie...
What a gorgeous share. I can't wait to see photos of the actual wedding. My gosh it looks so over the top beautiful.

Now this little gal Alexandra, is SO beautiful. Karen she is after all your grand daughter, and I am sure she gets all her good looks from you. I love the photo of her and Tyler. That is just pure innocence. I love it. Remember the song, "puppy love?"

I can just hear her hollering out hi to Grandpa and that she loves him. That is so precious. Moments like those are priceless.

Good luck on the shots sweetie. I pray they work for you. Pain is not something anyone should have to live with. I know we do, but we shouldn't have to. I will be lifting your name up in prayer over the injections.

Thank you for sharing sweet friend. I so enjoyed my visit today. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  3. Alex is absolutely beautiful! And of course you can brag...that is one of the perks of being a Grandma! I am so glad that you are going to get your shots, too....you must be miserable! And, well, I would love to get married there...it does indeed, look like Pennsylvania! I so love visiting your blog...it is like coming home!

  4. What a beautiful setting for a fall wedding! I will keep you and this event in my prayers, that everything will go well and the weather will be beautiful!
I recently had a shot in my right knee, and last week had one in the left. Arthritis in both legs and should be having a knee replacement on the right one-bone on bone! I'm tough and I'm going to hold out for a while going with the shots to keep me going. My MIL says "growing old ain't for sissy's!" and she's right.
You have every right to brag, your granddaughter is lovely!
    Blessings to you~

  5. Hey Karen~

What a beautiful place for a wedding!! My husband Jeff is a Minister/Wedding Officiant, and has been able to marry so many couples at wonderful places like this!! I bet they have the most WONDERFUL pancakes too!!

It is also so refreshing to see a beautiful young girl who is a joy to grandparents!! With so much ugliness out there, it is a joy to see such innocence and beauty!! Makes one so hopeful!!

I also deal with pain as I have fibromyalgia, so when something works, it makes ALL the difference!! Hope those shots help you to be pain free!!

    Thanks for a lovely post!!

    Blessings~

  22. Well I see I am way behind. I didn't know about your hip and back. I hope that helps. Hubby has a bad back and it kills him except when he is sitting or laying. He has had 4 steroid epidurals this year and they haven't helped. They used to but don't now for some reason. I love that restaurant and I bet the wedding will be great. And you have every right to brag on that Granddaughter. She is beautiful. Aren't Grands great?
