Fall has arrived – but just a peek!

I debated when I was taking my pictures today whether I should give a sneak peek of what I did over the weekend or put the full picture on.

I decided to tease you all and put some close-ups of them instead and maybe I should have titled my post ‘The Color Orange’…okay that’s what it is going to be, I made up my mind – you get a tease of the close-ups.  (Full pictures in my next post)

But first – I just found out this week that little LOLA my kitty is basically deaf. She has had so many ear infections over the last few years and many polyps and both ear drums are ruptured from it all. She can only hear when we’re right up close to her and she can feel vibration when we walk into a room but we have to step a bit harder than normal if we want her attention. I’ve been putting medicine in each ear twice a day and she’ll be better till it all comes back again – it’s just a repeat every few months.

And as long as I’m on animals – the birds were out in full force today. I have been resting in the screen room most of the day because I had the 2nd shot yesterday in my lower back and am told to rest a few days to let it work…yeah...that’s not working too well, I don’t really know what the word REST means...but I’m trying.

I think they were getting their day out because it was a gorgeous 75 degrees wirh no wind, full sun – just perfect. The squirrels were making holes in our mulch everywhere! Hearing them digging through all the leaves was rather grating on one’s nerves after awhile!

Anyway I got several pictures of birds in the birdbath – never seen that many at one time. Usually if one flys in the others leaves but not this time. Water was just a flying. I took a video too but I don’t know how to get it on here.
There were anywhere from 4 to 7 at one time.

So on to the sneak peek – oh maybe I should have just put the full photos on. Consider this like I said “The Color Orange”

So there you have it – can you guess what some of these photos are of – and what room they are in? You’ve all seen my house enough you should know by now!

Last month I finally got the pictures I’ve been wanting for the stairway wall – now I am not happy with the wall color but that’s another topic I can’t go into yet, I’ll get in trouble if I even mention changing it! But we’ll see…

I bought the Declaration of independence, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Now they just don’t make them all in the same size so it does make it difficult for placement but I think I got it okay – being they are going up the stairway the different sizes worked.

Aren’t they just such handsome men! I think so…

I’m getting my Bittersweet sometime this weekend  from a friend so then I’ll add it to my Fall decorating and take a full photo when it’s finished…that’s also why you aren’t getting the full shots today. The few little pieces I have aren’t worth the money I paid for them.

Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend.

  5. Your birdbath is so inviting. Pineapple in the middle I sure like that. Well I guess we will just have to wait & see more of orange. Do I maybe see some gray granite ware? Your kitty is beautiful. Like the look in the stairway. Those prints are great. Maybe roll some colored glaze over the white wall then sponge it off with a sponge roller. I got a kit at Lowes & the glaze. It was in the paint section.I used chocolate in 2 rooms & Copper in 3 rooms. I like the copper the best. Makes the wall look old & a bit stained. Just a thought.

  6. Hi Karen, Your stairway, ceilings and doors are just as they are at our house. I just love the pictures of Washington, Franklin and The Declaration. Very, very colonial.

I'm looking forward to your new pics with the bittersweet.

  11. Good morning, Karen,

Sorry to hear about your back. I'm not sure what's wrong with it, as I'm new here, but I sure hope it's nothing too horribly serious. I know how you feel about resting... I don't do it well, either.

I love your blog and I totally love your Etsy shop. I have already favorited a couple of things that I have my eye on. Such lovely work you do.

Don't you just love all the sparrows in the bird bath? I live in an old subdivision... well, sort of, and I have two bird baths out in the back and they load up with sparrows every day. I usually get about 8 to 10 of them at a time all clamoring about trying to get their turn to wash up and cool down in each bath, not to mention the 20 or 30 waiting in the bushes and on the fence. I've been lucky enough to have Bluebirds in them twice this summer. :-)

Oooooo, I love the teaser photos you have up of your fall decorations. I can't wait to see the bigger pictures. I hope you'll post them soon. I am still getting familiar with your blog so it's going to be a complete surprise for me. And the pictures of Washington and Jefferson and the Declaration of Independence is an excellent idea for up the stairs. I have two large staircase areas that I've been working on filling, and I'd not thought to do something like that yet. Hmmmm...

Thank you so much for swinging by CluckleBees and entering the Giveaway I have going, and also for adding me to your Made In America Selling Blog site. I really appreciate it. Good luck with the Giveaway and I'm going to mozy around your blog for a while this morning and get to know you better.

I hope you have a very lovely fall day,
    Susan

  12. OH! And I'm sorry to hear about poor Lola. I have a cat named Pumpkin who gets a lot of ear troubles, but no polyps so far. I hope poor Lola isn't hurting from the ear infections. My cat always acts like it's itchy but doesn't get cranky or anything... just scratches now and then. I sure hope Lola will be fine and those nasty ear infections go away.

  20. So sorry to hear about Lola, poor little baby! Goodness, you know that has to hurt. The birds are so adorable! They are beautiful little creatures and look at them just having a great time in that water. How wonderful that you had a day to sit, relax, and enjoy them on a nice, sunshiny day!

Your hallway pictures are very nice. That is what's going in my living room, along with a few other pieces of history.
