CHARLIE BROWN TREES!

HI EVERYONE,

I'm still here but been very busy with orders from my wonderful customers.

I had planned on getting my decorating done this week but it didn't happen - maybe this coming week if all goes the way I plan.

I did close all Christmas orders on my website so I don't get backlogged as Christmas gets closer and this is why you haven't seen me on your blogs commenting and looking at all your beautiful Christmas decorating and family happenings....I know I'm missing out on so much but rest assured I will visit you soon!

I did need to get out of the house yesterday and while out we went to a little local shop and I bought a 6 ft. Charlie Brown tree and today Doug tried to get it shaped up...but he couldn't understand why he had to 'shape it' - it looks like a tornado hit it so no matter what he did to it he said it didn't look much different - he did good though. Now I just need to adjust the branches where I want them.

I have a 3 ft. and 4 ft. tree like it and they fast became my favorite decoration for the season.
Anyway I wanted a larger one for my Mercury ornaments being the collection is getting bigger.
Hopefully after it's decorated it will look better.
One thing I'm not sure of is whether to put lights on t or not...any ideas on this?

So here's the 6 ft - still needing much work and I'm really not sure just where or which room it will go in - Doug says it is going to be our main tree...he's not bringing the other larger one up as long as we have this one. So I guess I had better work some magic here!
And YES IT LOOKS CRAZY and NO...IT'S NOT SHAPED THE WAY IT WILL LOOK IN THE END!

My 4 ft. tree that held my Mercury ornaments last year...not sure what I will put on it this year.

And my sweet little 3 ft. kitchen tree in the Tin Dough Riser...my original Charlie Brown tree and my favorite.

So this my dear blogging friends is why I'm MIA and will be yet for another week at least.
Blessings,
Karen

  1. Oh Karen...I love those primitive trees and I don't think you can ever go wrong with a few white lights. Can't wait to see how you decorate the large one. Blessings from The Cabin In The Woods in N.C.

  3. Karen I love your new tree and the other ones too. I think it will look great with your mercury glass ornaments. I don't know about the lights -I don't see how you could keep the cords from showing. Can't wait to see it all decorated.

  4. Oh Karen, hurry up ad fill those orders girl. You are missing so many talented women and their beautiful homes. I wasn't blogging this time last year and this holiday season I am so enjoying all the blogs and ideas.
Glad to hear your business is good especially with times as hard as they are for lots of folks. We miss you but will all still be here when things slow down for you. Love all your trees. I say, you can never have too many, but my Mister definitely does NOT agree with me. You have a great week. Don't work too hard.

  7. Love those trees! The big one is fabulous! I have never seen one that size either, but you can bet I'll be keeping my eyes open for one!

I am anxious to see if you decide to go with lights or not. I think a few white lights always look great, but it seems like it might be hard to place them on that kind of tree.

Your home is always decorated so nicely... thanks for sharing your pics!

I found some real ugly "weed" pine trees growing out on our property in the fence line... begging hubby to cut em down for some prim outside trees this year one each side of the front door! :) have fun decorating!!!

  12. Hi Karen, Love your trees. I vote for the lights. This year I found in a country store that is near to my home a garland of tint lights. They are almost invisible and the cord is brown,so is easy to hide them in the branches, but having the light that you need. Can't wait to see them decorated.

It is a very busy time of the year for us all and no one fault you one bit for not being able to visit blogs. Take care and good luck with all of you orders. -Steph-

  21. Karen, I have the charlie brown trees in 2,3,4, and 7' and the 7' is hard to adjust but it is my favorite, I do use white lights (my fav.)and one year I did the mustard silicone and they looked great also. Not fun putting lights on but you will love it when your done. The only ornaments I am using this year are brown sugar cones and I am loving it.

May I ask where you found your trees? I need a new tree but nothing I've seen even comes close to being primitive.
I hope you get your orders done soon!

  25. I've been blogging this evening, lots to catch up on and I'm seeing all these wonderful Christmas pictures so I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't done my decorating yet... tomorrow for me!

I think some clear lights with your mercury ornaments would be beautiful, they would really shine with the light reflecting off of them.

I love those Charlie Brown trees in all sizes but I really love the tall one. I know whatever you decide will look lovely!

Have a delightful week! Don't work too hard, make sure you have some fun mixed in there somewhere. =]

  30. I just love those trees and would love to start replacing my 10 year old artificial ones with them. But there are not many prim shops down here in the sunny south, at least not any near me. Do you know of a place I can order them from or a different name I can google them?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Karen, I really love all your prim Charlie Brown trees...I assume they are artificial because you mention how you used Mercury Glass last year. I have never seen anything like them around here. Where do you buy them?

  35. These trees are adorable - I love them! I'd do lights on the bigger one unless it's in a well lit room, but that's just me.

Thanks so much for stopping by, come back again!
