Finally got smart – taking a break!

Do you ever stress over what to put in your heading to make it jump out at your followers and have them want to click on your blog???
I’m having that problem…no catch words are coming to me…nothing has been happening here to call for a catchy word or phrase…just plain ole living and doing what one needs to do daily – is that boring or what?

Taking a break

So the heading here says it all for what is happening here….I put my website on HOLD FOR 2 MONTHS – I’m not getting anything made for my shows and that just won’t fly come August if there’s very little made.
I am not getting rich with my website but I do get orders in regular – to the point I can’t work on anything else.
So if anyone was wanting something quickly just e-mail me…I’m doing things like that for people but just not website orders from the shopping cart for now.
Oh and if only I was taking a break to do just what the picture shows….sun and sand – HOW FUN!

I’m sure you are all getting ready for your Easter weekend – we’re having just our youngest son and family and then our oldest grandson for Sunday dinner.
We’ll also be celebrating our granddaughters Confirmation.
Last Sunday she got confirmed and last night she took her first communion.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Our middle son is heading for Florida for a week tonight – I just realized he’s getting to do what my picture is showing !!!!
Oh well, they certainly deserve it. He works for a printing company and puts in many, many hours above and beyond and his wife works 2 jobs – think they need a vacation?  I do.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Our oldest will be at home with his in-laws – always a fun time there…lots of little ones to be happy about the Easter Bunny.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Do you ever get tired of eating ‘right’ and need something greasy and yummy…well that was me last night – I needed grease and lots of it so we had grilled pork chops and fried potatoes…YUM…yes there are 4 chops – I only at half of one but they are great cold to nibble on don’t ya think?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Have you ever tried the ‘Simply Potatoes’ ?  They are awesome and taste like fresh cut potatoes. I won’t ever cut up another whole potato to fry since we found these – they are so fresh and flavorful. We also buy the shredded ones too.
You just have to try them.

So what have I been up to besides stitching…just about nothing – so see how hard it was to come up with something to post.
Maybe it’s time to take a break here too and then just maybe I’ll have something interesting to post about….BUT I;M NOT…YOU JUST WON’T SEE MANY CREATIVE POSTS UNTIL SOMETHING HITS ME!
Haven’t been shopping to buy any new treasures lately either.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Oh I have to say though – my husband got the 3-D Sports channel on our TV yesterday and he/(me kind of) watched the Masters in 3-D – boy it looked like you were right there on the course with them – every hill, flower, tee, greens – all so real. That was interesting huh?

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

All the while I was stitching yesterday my little Lola slept next to me (always – she’s my shadow!).
She has a sweet habit of covering her eyes when she sleeps.

So I’ll leave you with her picture and wish you all a very HAPPY EASTER

Sounds like you are gona have a quiet Easter..maybe that's just what you need..
I can understadn taht feeling when you simply can not get in the groove of creating and ya just have to step back for a bit..I think that is why cleaning in the summers has always worked so well for my crative mind and hands..
Then when you resume you feel like the mind just flows with creative thoughts and then creating..

I do hope that you don't take to much of a break from us here in blogland I will be lost without your wonderful post even the one you think aren't exciting...LOL...like this one..

  9. Karen,

Take a break! You deserve it!

I do love a pork chop on occasion, grilled with lemon pepper. Wish we could come over and help you with that meal.

I have all 8 grands tomorrow, passion play tonight and Sunday morning so we will be busy.

May the sunrise upon our face,
Remind us of the Father's grace.

    Happy Easter!

  11. Lola so cute! Yes when the weather starts to get nicer I have trouble getting crafty stuff done and don't want to look at the computer. You surely don't want to go to the show empty handed so it'll be better for you to take the 2 month break from the website. That dinner looks yummy.I'm trying real hard not to have leftovers for the next few days with Easter so just having easy things, although hubby keeps asking about the pie.LoL..Happy Easter!~Amy

  12. I hope you enjoy your much needed break. Though you thought you might not have much to say today, I really enjoyed this post.
Living in the potato state as I do, I do enjoy using the Simply Potato products for easy week night dinners. Last nights dinner sure looks like it was yummy! Yes, I do crave "grease" once in a while, not sure why? We try to be really good most of the time.

Easter Blessings to you and yours~

  16. Hi Karen, sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.
I always feel behind and think I should have a secretary!!!
    Your dinner looks yummy!!!
Kitty looks so cute ~ my kitty always has to wedge himself next to me when I stitch and once in awhile grabs my thread or nips at my hand if I get to close with that needle!!
Hope you have a wonderful Easter and find some special surprises in your basket!!!
    Prim Blessings

  17. Karen,
I just love seeing what other people are having for dinner! LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to have a little something more substantial than lettuce once in awhile! I am going to look for those potatoes when I shop next time.... thanks for the tip! Hope you and your family have a great Easter! Stay happy and balanced with the stitching... I admire that you take the break when you need to!
Love the shot of your little guy covering his eyes.. precious!!
    Hugs!

  20. You could just post what you make for dinner each day and you'd have a captivated audience! ;o) That looks so, so, good - especially since it's almost 6 p.m., and the only edible thing on my counter right now are the eggs I just dyed. Sounds like a nice, slow-paced Easter celebration planned. I will be picking my mother up from the nursing home and taking her to my younger brother's for lunch. Hoping the family tensions don't erupt.... :o Wishing you and yours a blessed and beautiful holiday.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

  24. I don't worry too much about catchy phrases but I don't have the amount of followers that you have, lol. Yes, I would love to be doing what your picture shows too, that would be so very nice right now. Good for your son and family, sounds like they deserve it.

Your dinner looks oh so yummy! We love pork chops around here. Never heard of the Simply Potatoes, will have to check them out.

Lola is so adorable! I can't believe she covers her eyes when she sleeps, that is way too cute!!

Happy stitching and enjoy Easter with your beautiful family~

  28. Hi Karen, I think you are doing the right thing about taking a break from your website. There is nothing worse than investing in a show and not having enough product!!Plus, a LOT of promoters will not invite you back if you have an empty booth.Sounds like you will have a full house for Easter--congrats on your granddaughter's comfirmation--big event in her life!! Your "greasy"dinner looks so yummy--we didn't get back from Brian's doctor until 8PM so we stopped in Pittsburgh for a burger to hold us until we got home and then had chili dogs.Really healthy, huh? We usually watch bits of the Masters, but have missed most of it this year. Lola is so cute!! Stryker occasionally sleeps like that,I wish he would sleep more and get in trouble less!! Have a wonderful Easter!!--Jan

  33. Those pork chops look yummy! I need to make some! Sometimes you just have to blog to keep track of what happens in your life, don't worry about the catchy stuff. My family just likes that (almost) everything is documented! I love to see all your pictures!
