Been rather busy the past few weeks!

Been a productive few weeks.

Got a couple orders mailed and also working on the last of a wholesale order, then on to more orders.
My diamond style penny rugs have been a big seller lately so there are lots of pennies floating around the homestead.  I have 3 orders for them, plus other styles, so I cut out and placed in stacks of 3, for the diamond ones that is –  I need an assembly line!

Last week we took a 3 day get-away to TN to visit my sister and her family.
My brother and sister in-law went with us and besides visiting with the family we got to enjoy some of that wonderful southern hospitality and warm 70+ degree weather.
Monday the 7th was our sister’s 76th birthday so we wanted to be there on her birthday. It was a bittersweet visit and all too short.
Our sister isn’t doing very well but she was able to visit a bit with us and I had taken along 2 doz. chocolate cupcakes for the family and we enjoyed having some for her birthday as well.

Over a month ago I made some more sweet potato garlands.
I’m going to put them on my selling blog later today so if you are interested, go and check  them out.
I used hickory nuts still in the pod along with faux pecans.

I also made one of my favorite designs into a pattern – it is now on the pattern page of my selling blog

I’m in the process of making some of my designs into punch needle and this cone-flower is one of them.

Saturday was our granddaughter Emily’s 18th birthday. For those that could make it there was a birthday breakfast at her favorite 50’s diner.
It’s so hard to believe she is 18 and will graduate this June and then it’s off to college!

I also made some round penny mats for my wholesale customer and when all orders are filled I’m hoping to make some to sell….they are fun and easy.  Here’s just a couple – I have more colors

I think that’s it for me this post – hope to have more at a later date.
I noticed I have lost many, many followers but a huge thanks to those who are sticking with me…I appreciate it!

Karen

I am finally feeling about 90% normal again since the surgery - still have pain but the surgeon said I'd have that for several months yet....but it's tolerable and will go away...Yeahhh! Thanks for asking.
      Blessings to you.

  5. Hi Karen, I has been a long time but I wanted to check in and I see you are still very busy with the beautiful penny rugs you have been making and you look amazing, just beautiful.
Congrats on your grandchild going to college.
Our oldest is 24 yrs old now and graduated from college and now works as an engineer for Jaguar. I am sure you know Ken and I are so PROUD of him and we are very blessed and our youngest will be graduating college this May with a 3.84 average.....so proud of both of them and Ken and I are so proud to be their parents. I sit back and Ken and I both can't believe how fast they grow up.
So I will be starting to post again. We just have been SOOOO busy, but good busy.
I am happy to see and hear that you and your hubby and everyone are doing well.

  6. My oldest granddaughter just turned fourteen. It doesn't seem that long that her mother was that age!

I lost Dozens of Followers when Google changed their rules as to who could now Follow. I think now the Follower has to have a Google account where as before there were numerous ways to be a Follower. It was alarming to see the numbers tumble but they have stabilized now.

    1. Good morning Brenda - I didn't realize Google changed things - I wish they would leave things alone. I'm not good at things like 'setting', etc. so it really confuses me. Thanks for the information.
And thanks for visiting and commenting.

  13. I lost most of my viewers after taking off a few months last year, too. But I'm always sticking with you! Hoping to put up a new post today; was having a problem uploading photos. Wow you have been productive! I am inspired! I spend almost all of my time on my Ebay store. But I took your advice and bought the supplies to do needlepunch. Now I need to find time to sit down and do it. Have you thought of making needlepunch designs? It was hard for me to find any patterns. Best wishes to you and your wonderful family. Your sister looks like a dearheart.

    1. Hi Sue, I sure hope you get to see my reply - not sure how this works.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments.
No, no more gatherings. We stopped for the summer last year and then this winter I had my surgery so I didn't know when to start it up again so decided not to. I did enjoy it so much though.
If you can, send me an email so I have it to respond to you as you are a 'no reply' here - I get an email that you posted but can't do a reply.
      Blessings

  15. Hello dear sweet friend.. I love seeing you have a post up.. I do not read blogs nearly as much as I should but will always find my way here as I love your blog.. I lost a lot of followers too due to Google doing some housecleaning and for some reason picked us.. I noticed several blogs haven't lost any so I don't know why they only did certain ones.. I did get about 10 back but it is discouraging, eh? Oh well... I was thinking as I read your post that you cannot keep a good woman down.. smile.. You are such a worker... God bless you sweet lady and take care.. xo

  16. Hi Karen, Glad to see you are getting around. So lovely to be able to visit with your sister, happy you got to see her. My all the kids are growing so fast, where has the time gone? I am amazed at how much you can get done, lovely work as always. It's a shame about the blogs, there are several I followed that don't post anymore. Sad really! Facebook has too much drama for me! Can't wait for nice weather to be here and stay...lol! Been housebound for several months. Get to go out next week finally, even if it is for a biopsy. Hoping the weather is nice so maybe we can do something else too! Take care! Blessings and hugs

  17. Hi....when I look at a blog, I always go to yours first. I am sorry that I haven't left comments or told you how much I enjoy your site! I am the one who has a daughter in Sun Prairie and a log cabin in our backyard that my husband moved and rebuilt piece by piece. We were able to visit my 90 year old brother and his family in Oklahoma before Easter. Our kids even drove out and met us there for a few days over their Spring Break. So glad that you were able to visit with your sister...family is so important! I don't know why this is registering as an Unknown with Google....I am Sandy Hershman.

  21. So glad you got to visit with your sister. Family really is most important. I love all of your penny rugs. You are the best. Yes, that Google followers thing... seems that followers who do not have Google accounts were removed from our GFC Followers a while back. I lost many this way also. Kinda seems unfair, but it happened to us all anyway. Your blog was one of the first that I started following some years ago, and I do enjoy each and every post. Blessings to you and your family :)
