I wonder what it’s all going to be???

I had such a great day today – the weather was beautiful
and the sun was shining….and my aches and pains have died down.

Today was ‘lunch day’ with my former co-workers…as I’ve mentioned before we get together at a restaurant or here about every 6-8 weeks and catch up on each others families, animals, trips and pains…yes, pains…we’re all about the same age so there’s lots to talk about.

And at lunch I couldn’t make up my mind if I wanted a side salad or a grilled Chicken Salad – went back and forth in my mind and ended up ordering the Chicken Salad….so when the salad came I ate it. As well as the girls who ordered a meal and had soup…then – the waitress brought out the meals..and another salad for me!  WHAT????  I then realized that I did indeed order the Chicken Salad – lol

I told her I didn’t want it now – I had already eaten a salad…but she said it was her mistake and so I might as well eat it…yeah right…you bet it was her mistake! And so I tried to eat SOME MORE SALAD – but I started to feel very much on overload by that time so home it came with me.

Then this afternoon I got busy with preparations for some new
items but I’m not saying what they are but here’s a peek at
what i was up to all afternoon.

Towels 1
Towels in oven 1
Towels in oven
And then I tore some fabric to use on these….
Floursack Towels
So what do you think it’s all going to turn into…guess you’ll have to wait!
I’m just full of surprises and mystery this week aren’t I?

  1. HI Karen,

Sounds like you had a fun-filled "salad" day ;) That is neat that you catch up with your past co-workers every 6 - 8 weeks.

I honestly do not know what you are making, but looks perfect! I love Americana and it is just around the corner.

Love the staining too. Flags a must and ripped ties on them? Right up my alley.

Have fun with whatever you decide to do with them and can't wait to see what you end up making.

  2. Hi Karen,
Not sure what you are making but I can't wait to see! I do love the Americana~

  3. well, I think you're gonna add a dyed striped border to some dishtowels...or ... maybe you're gonna ...oh I dunno...

Love your posts.. you are so full of ideas..
    so keep 'em conning...

  4. Hi Karen,

Not sure if I am right or not but could it have something to do with American Flags???

You can send some of that sun up my way if you want :)

  5. Oh how I wish I still had a clothesline. Can't wait to see what you're making!!
    Have a great week.

  6. Hi Karen,
Not sure exactly what you are making...but I have this feeling that it just might have a Americana feel to it. Can't wait to see!!

  7. I'm sure it has something to do with the American Flag..can't wait to see :)

  8. Not sure, but I sure love the colors. I wish I had clothes lines. My friends think I'm crazy! What do you want clothes lines for?? I could dry all my prim stained fabrics and besides I hate sending money to the utility company every month.

I can't wait to see your creations.

  9. Hi Karen!
I can't wait to see what your making, but it sure has all the makings of something wonderful!
Glad you had such a great day. Isn't it nice when we feel so good?!
    Have a nice day..

  10. One never knows about you girl. You could be making most anything from that scrumptious material. Sounds like you had a great lunch with your friends even if you did eat two salads! lol!
    Enjoy the sunshine!

  11. Hi Karen,
Love American items, can't wait to see what are you working on... Really, I missed a lot my clothesline, I had some in PR and with the beautiful sun and higher temps there, I only need a couple of hrs, sometimes only one to have my stained fabrics completely ready. I missed that.

  12. Hi Karen... I can't imagine what you are making.. all I know is that I would love to win,,,lol...
    Have a great week, dear....

  13. Hey Karen, I love your flags and I think your mystery items will be patriotic, but I don't know what they might be. I'm sure whatever it is, it will be fabulous!
Hope you have a great day!

  14. That's the kind of "salad day" to have if you're going to have one! Can't wait to see what you are up to with all the fabric.

  15. I LOVE salad but would have been hard-pressed to eat 2 in the same meal, lol. I LOVE your fabrics and the thoughts of Americana that they inspire. Can't wait to see what you do with them :)

  16. Love how you have all the flags grouped, can't wait to see what you do with the red ticking...I know one thing it looks great on hanging on the clothesline:)

    Have another wonderful day!

  17. I can guess it's gonna be Americana/Patriotic!!!! I just pulled out all my red/white/blue type fabrics to get inspired by??

Karen-Am I correct that you also have Fibromyalgia ? (i was diagnosed in 05) It's been so cold amd damp here I've been aching like crazy--looking forward to the warmer weather!!

  18. Oh, I love all the fabric....when I get in the mood to make goodies, it's too hard to decide on any one thing. I know it will be beautiful! Can't wait to see.

  19. Karen, Cant wait to see what you are working on. I just decorated my porch this morning in red/white/ I am very curious!!!! I might need something,,,ya know??? Ha Ha...dianntha

  20. I can't wait to see what you are working on..maybe aprons?..I have totally been digging salads lately..they are easy and so good for us..I know what you are having for lunch today.:)

I guess there is such a thing as too much salad. I can't wait to see what you are making. I hope you are having a wonderful Thursday!

  22. Well at least we know you are eating healthy lol!
... what will you order next time???

Cant wait to see what youre up to!

  23. Whatever creative thing it is that you are making, I guess I'd better get ready for it! I'll start tweaking tomorrow so I have a place for your newest creation. I don't want to be the only one here without the latest!

  24. I am hoping that you are making something Americana...My front porch is done this way and I can't wait to see what you come up with...Have a great weekend...

  25. I love anything to do w/Americana or flags, etc. so that is what I'm guessing you're making, ha. My whole living room is done in Americana and hope to be showing some pics of it soon.

That fabric looks so cute strung across your clothesline! Reminds me of Amish country.

Can't wait to see what it is!

  26. Why yes, you are FULL of surprises! And me being the lover of all things patriotic, I can't wait to see what you are up to!! But I'm loving it so far (you gotta love it when homespun is involved)! =]
