Our 3 week trip..short version

Good Friday morning to you all.

Wow,  it has been a whole month since I posted - hope I still have a couple followers left!!

Well  July was a whirl-wind - we were gone the first 3 weeks and when we got home I immediately went to bed from an infection I got and stayed there for 3-1/2 days and the rest of that week was preparing for our turn at having the 'cousins reunion'.
It was a wonderful turnout this year – only 2 cousins couldn’t make it.

This week was spent doing 'catch-up' on what was missed the rest of the month.

I'd like to take you on the trip with us as much as I can - pictures are few, at least the one's anyone would be interrested in.
We started out our trip heading south and spent the first night with Betty Crowe. She is a very dear friend who has 'Through My Back Door' blog - I know most of you know about her blog.
We met Betty last year on our trip south and felt like we had been friends forever.
Betty was one of my very first customers way back in 2009 and what did she order....CROWS! Naturally.
Well anyway we got to her house in the rain but it just made the mountains of Powell, TN that more beautiful.

We had a wonderful visit and I know we’ll stop in and see Betty again next time we head south.
THANK YOU BETTY FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT HOSTESS AND FRIEND.

The next morning we headed to Asheville, NC to visit Bill and Linda Nottingham
It had been a whole year since we saw them and we missed them dearly.

Our GPS wouldn’t take us to their place so they met us at the bottom of the hill – same as last year!

Bills birthday was on July 4th – Linda gave him a pair of waterproof shoe/boots and he loved them.
He and Doug take the same size so they had to smart around with them.

Linda put a pack of rub on tattoo's in his card and insisted we all wear them for the day.
Mine are on the left – I had a skull and a lizard of some kind.
Do you know how hard it is to get these buggers off?  It was days!!!

Later that day we went to the movies…saw SPY.
Here’s what Linda said about the movie.
”we all thought it was HIGHlarious!
And, like, Chummy from Call the Midwife!!!  Karen and I ate too much popcorn and got tummy aches.
Today we shopped for shoes and feel much better!”
I would recommend this movie if you want to laugh the entire time.

Fantastic Margarita’s at this wonderful Mexican restaurant – Nacho’s & Beer.

Spent 4 days with them then left north-east to Lancaster, PA

But first a stop in Chambersburg, PA at Grant Street Woolworks for more wool and Valdani thread.
Teresa Miller (Teresa’s Primitive Treasures) met us there.
She was going to go to lunch with us but was taking care of two of her grandchildren so opted out.
Still had a wonderful visit with her and Linda

Trying to find the right Valdani threads to work with the punch needle I purchased – I also brought some of ones I hadn’t worked up yet to get the right colors for them too.
Us three girls
We left there and arrived at our cousin’s place in Lancaster, PA
Spent 5 wonderful days there.
On that Friday it was my birthday and we also spent the day at the Lancaster Country Club watching the
U.S. Women’s Open Golf
We had a fantastic spot to sit and watch…it was the only day of our trip that wasn’t HUMID…couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Linda had a birthday dinner for me on Thursday because we were going to be gone all of Friday.

Karen bird house
I received this darling bird house that has since found a home in one of our trees

We left Lancaster on Saturday the 11th heading north east up to Maine.
I’ll do another post later as this one is on picture overload!
