The makings of Fall displays

It’s going to take me some time before I can bring my Fall things all together but it will happen – believe me!
I’m getting so tired of looking at all the Summer colors and Geraniums – enough is enough, right???  Being our Summer started so early it has been a longer one than normal…SO COME ON FALLL – get here soon.

Friday my brother/wife came over for the day so I used my ‘charm’ and e-mailed Dan DiPaolo to see if we could come over to the barn shop as my brother had never been out there and I so wanted him to see Dan’s place.  Being the sweetheart Dan is he said yes – so just to cover my tracks I baked him a pan of Apple Crisp…it works every time!
Dan is only open Sat. and Sun so this was extremely generous of him.

I was hoping he had his Mums and Pumpkins and sure enough he did! Lots of them, and silly me with no camera!  His place was all decked out with Fall everywhere – inside and out.
I bought what I set out to buy and now just waiting to get rid of Summer ‘stuff’ so I can get it all arranged.
Oh to have an old wooden wagon or wheel barrow for my courtyard to put them in – anyone got one to spare!!!
I got one Yellow, 2 Brick Red and a Bronze/Gold Mums along with these Pumpkins.

I loooove the blue-green one. He named it but it went right out my head the second he said what it was

Pretty isn’t it…the bumpy one is similar in color but such a strange shape.
 

Dan gave this one a name too but it slipped my mind…something to do with drunken or bloodshot…because of the veins

Today we bought the peachy/green one (on the right) at a Farmer’s Market.
The boy said it’s a squash so after displaying it we can eat it.

We also stopped at our favorite shop in Rochester – Finder’s Keepers. 
I never ‘DON’T’ find anything there and Friday was no different.
Like I said in my other post – this is the year of Pumpkin’s for me it seems because I bought a hugie there.  It’s not real but looks very much so.

My poor dining room table is beginning to get over run with Fall – I have been buying it and placing it all in one place until I am ready to decorate with it – so I really, really do want to get going on it.
 
I also bought a faux Bittersweet vine and a large crow – had one years ago and it ‘died’ – just got too old…
Oh and the boxes the Crow is on – they were from a garage sale we stopped at first. Got 4 boxes $1 each.

So then if that wasn’t enough running around today Doug and I headed north of Milwaukee to Holy Hill for their annual craft show. 
Now I will say this for the record…I have been wanting to go to this show for YEARS…but after getting in there I won’t bother again.  A very, very nice show but it was 80% fine art, jewelry and shawls/hats.

Denise who has some of my products in her shop had a booth so I bought some little Pumpkins (there I go again!) from her and then some fabric Candy Corn from another vendor…that’s it!  Wasn’t worth the hours drive and the crowds but it was a beautiful setting I will say that.
But after yesterday I really over did my discs/sciatica and tonight I am paying the price. So tomorrow we’re laying low.

I was trying to find a place to put them to take a picture of the Candy Corn but nothing would make them show up nicely or show the size.
 

And I totally forgot I bought this dried bundle
.I want to put it in a large crock when the time comes

Wasn’t where it was to go but looks fine for now…I’ll put some Fall with it soon.
 

So there’s my weekend…and like I said I’m so ready to stay at home tomorrow, cook a pot roast, sew on my orders and relax.
No running around, no decorating just staying in.

More fall goodies

Saturday Doug and I went to Trimborn Farm to a craft show and also we had a golf outing in the afternoon – made for a full day.

Trimborn is a gorgeous historic farm in a beautiful setting – we never miss this show and we also get to meet a blogging friend when we go there. You know Becky from http://primitivesnstitchin.blogspot.com/ – I see her every time we go there and she has the most adorable things she makes…I could not resist again…smiles!!!
She has the sweetest smile and personality!!!

See that Tan Pumpkin…it’s mine!  I bought three things from her and can’t wait to display them. The cloth Pumpkin and the Orange one on the box hook – it’s wool felt and filled with Sweet Annie

Then over at another booth I found a lady who makes some awesome Prims – she does not have a website or a blog so I talked with her for quite a long time.  She just must start something to sell her products as she has so many wonderful things.  I’m supposed to e-mail her and get her some information so I had better do that quickly.
This is the Pumpkin nodder I got from her.

Further on down I found a booth that sold hand made baskets and goodness sake she is right from near me and I have never heard of her before.  The prices were good as well but wouldn’t you know I chose one of the highest price ones – mainly because of the size and I don’t have one like it.
Love my Gathering Basket.  You remember how long my trencher is…this is about as long as it is.

On the way back from there we stopped at a Ferch’s soda fountain for lunch…it was kind of early for lunch time but we needed to get back to the golf.
 

I doubt these pictures will give the perspective of actually seeing these clouds for real but very often they form over Lake Michigan…Saturday they were awesome.  Only wish I could have captured them better.  We were probably 40 miles from the lake at this point…almost could see them shortly from leaving home.

Had to share the winners of the golf outing…
Dan who owns the golf club we were at, a friend?, our son Dan, our son Darren were the winning team.
They don’t do things up ‘perfect’ as far as the winners – they made it a tad silly.  These jackets have been given to wear for the photo for 40 years now…our aunts/parents started this golf outing and it has continued on down to the younger generation now. 

I love this picture of me and Matt…he’s one of our cousins sons…we don’t get to see them often – more likely just the golf outing once a year.  I love this kid!

I’ve chatted with Margie from Hungry Hook Primitives…she’s doing well…just in lots of pain.  She is hoping she doesn’t loose followers because she hasn’t posted – but she sure is trying to get one formatted to post…I assured her that we all understand and are saying lots of prayers.

Busy gal - forgotten purchases – fun times

I totally forgot that I bought two new bowls a couple weeks ago at an estate sale by our house.  It was held the during the same weekend as our rummage sale/craft show but fortunately it started on Friday so we took a bit of time off of setting ours up and went.  Glad we did.  Although we missed getting a gorgeous Maple dining room set – which we don’t need – but the chairs were awesome…very different than anything I’ve ever seen.  I could have sold the table and kept the chairs…but someone had just paid for it!!!

But I did score two antique bowls. One is a smaller one of the one I got a couple months back at a flea market.  Both were $15 each but she gave them to us for $25 total.  Both have a crack in the bottom but being I’m not going to use them that’s just fine by me.

This last Saturday we took a drive to Delafield, WI to take some of my products to a little shop up there called ‘Nooks & Crannys’.  I had met Denise last year in line at the Madison Cash & Carry Wholesale show…she recognized me from my blog and came up to me and asked if I would consider putting some products in her shop.  We have gotten together a few times since.  And she came to my show last week too – I was glad I had ‘LOTS’ of treasures she could use.
Anyway…here she is...and a few pictures of her shop. (Forgot to take the outside of it – it’s adorable)

Here’s  one of my newer Black Cats Mug Mats I made this week…a special order from a wholesale customer.
Oh…and the Mr. Jack jar toppers are almost gone…I think there are 3 left.
We have a few of the Snowmen ones left.

I also went to a baby shower that day…it was for my nephew (Doug’s sister’s son) and his wife Jessica. They’re expecting their first baby in November.  A little boy.
 

Lunch was B-B-Q pulled pork sandwiches, ham roll-ups, veggies/dip, chips/dip, fruits and cupcake cake

Again another hot day here…93 this afternoon. And yesterday it was so humid – I checked the gauge and it said 94% humidity. The air was thick.

Fall can not get here soon enough.  I’m tired of looking at Summer flowers – I’m so ready for the rich mellow colors of Fall decor and even outside.
