MY LUCKY WEEK

My husband said I should buy Lottery tickets with the luck I have been having this week.

First I won that adorable bunny from Brenda over at The Rusty Thimble and now these darling letters from Dan at http://dan-yesterdayoncemore.blogspot.com/

I got to choose 4 letters and the colors I wanted so I got one for Joseph, Aidan and Emily and then one for myself…aren’t they cute!!!!

And then if that’s not enough….from Deb over at http://oldesaltboxscents.blogspot.com/  I won her drawing! I will show you that later after I receive her goodies! She is also a member of my POPULAR SELLING BLOGS blog as well. THANKS DEB!

Oh it has been so cold here – yesterday morning it was 12 degrees and didn’t warm up much throughout the day so what a perfect time for a pot of Chili and hot bread.

I was busy with a wholesale order so Doug went about doing the shopping for the ingredients and put it all together….one of the things he does wonderfully.

When he was in management with UPS he often treated his drivers with a Chili supper when they came in from a snowy days run…and it was received with huge THANK YOU’S…so he probably make a better pot of Chili than I do plus he made a loaf of bread…not homemade but close to it for him….and it was delicious! So that was our dinner last night…no Friday Night Fish Fry here this week…..and oh, so much better

For two days straight we went into Janesville to meet my brother and his wife for lunch – something we haven’t done in ages…kind of felt like a vacation with lunches, shopping and visiting…but it sure does cost us when we go. Seems we always find things we NEED…lol
This time though we did get a great Memory Foam Mattress Topper at Kohl’s – we have been thinking of a different mattress but decided to try this instead and we love it. Only been on two nights but wow, no pressure point and with my bad back, hips and shoulder I haven’t felt a thing! I would recommend it to anyone.

But OMGosh….we had a high bed to start with and now there’s 4 more inches added to it…..I always had a bedside stool and now I really need it!
The memory foam goes in between the skirt and the topper in a zipper enclosure….and these aren’t my hands or my bed…web picture.

WHITE WEDNESDAY

SNOW, SNOW AND MORE SNOW!!!
It started around midnight Monday and continued on through yesterday (Tuesday) leaving behind mounds of that white stuff – a word I don’t even want to think, say or type again!
Doug spent the entire day shoveling and s--- blowing until a buried newspaper got jammed up in the blower…not a happy man at that point…so after an hour of trying to get the paper and plastic out of the blades and chute he finally had to take it in…got it back about 2 hours later and it runs better than before! He finally gave up at 4:30 and then was back out this morning after we got dumped on in the night. But oh is it pretty out there.
I didn’t take pictures because they would look like the rest of the ones I’ve taken over the past couple years…our scenery doesn’t change around us.

Well all that being said about the white stuff….I’m wishing I was here right now and I’m sure there are tons of you out there that are wishing the same thing. Here’s an accumulation of WARM SCENES from the last couple trips we’ve taken

I WON A BUNNY

On Friday when I heard the mailman drop the lid on the mailbox I headed to the door and before I got the storm door open I saw this white Priority box sitting almost in front of the door and I just knew who it was from and I could hardly wait to get inside and open it up….yep, I got my adorable bunny from BRENDA at http://therustythimble.blogspot.com/

THANK YOU SO MUCH BRENDA FOR DRAWING MY NAME. He’s just adorable and will find a special place in my home.

Well let me tell you he’s cuter in person! The detail is incredible….all the work that Brenda puts in her creations is awesome.
His outfit is all wool even!!!!

So what do you think….did I get a great treasure or what?

          

Well my husband left yesterday morning (Saturday) for York, PA – there were three other drivers following him so they had good support heading into the horrible snow storm awaiting them in PA and sure enough as soon as they got about 1/2 hour from Cranberry, PA they were detoured south because of an accident that had PA Turnpike 76 tied up for hours. So south they went and finally got back on and got to their hotel in Cranberry finally.

It was pushing 8:30 and they needed (wanted) food badly so headed to Bob Evan’s….CLOSED
So they went next door to a steak place….CLOSED…
Everything was closed up….customers were still in there eating but obviously they all closed early to let their workers head home before it got too late.
So they had a pizza delivered to their rooms….now this confused me a tad….THE PLACES WERE CLOSED THAT HAD CUSTOMERS COMING TO THEM….BUT THEY KEPT EMPLOYEES WORKING THAT HAD TO GO OUT ON THE HORRIBLE ROADS TO MAKE DELIVERIES….a tad backwards I think…but at least they got food.

So Doug will go to York and the other 3 head on into Philly….but they are all heading back when the next storm is due to hit!  Hope they don’t run into any trouble this time.

          

Does anyone know if the Valley Forge Shows were cancelled and or rescheduled???

I do know I was sad to have missed this one but there are for sure many out there saying the same thing. Oh the poor vendors…such expense to get there and set up and probably not many if any attending to buy.

I’m definitely going to Columbus March 19, 20 for the Offingers and Heritage shows…anyone else going?  It would be great to meet you all.

I hope all you out there in blog land are staying warm and safe and have a wonderful Super Bowl Sunday!

I know I haven’t posted much lately because it has been quite busy here with orders, but I do check in on as many of you as I can

Well, I was going to head to Pennsylvania today for the Wholesale show in Valley Forge but plans changed – things just didn’t flow like I had hoped and so I chucked the idea. Not very happy about it but that’s life I guess.

I don’t even have any fun pictures to post for you today…haven’t bought anything new in a long while so I can’t share anything like that…but oh, I would have lots to show if I had headed to PA!  Oh, who knows, I just might take off tomorrow anyway.

Oh, I did make a new Candle Hugger for a customer – she has ordered every candle hugger I have made many times over…placing orders for 10-12 at a time. Gotta love a customer like that.

She needed one for a wedding this month and asked for something in black and white with wedding bells…so here’s what I made. Hope she likes it.

 

That’s all for me today – I guess I surprised myself with information today…didn’t think I had anything to put here but I fooled myself.

FOLLOWERS

I just wanted to come on this morning and THANK EACH AND EVERY FOLLOWER TO MY BLOG....the number has grown in leaps and bounds.


Some visit now and then and some everyday....how wonderful.


I follow MANY but I don't get to them everyday...I take a few each day so if you don't see me there...wait! I will show up....I think it's like that for most of us don't you?


We have to work the blogging in with our outher daily routines and of late it seems the blogs have taken rank over everything else the first thing in the morning! lol  But I love seeing what my friends are doing.

Company for Dinner

We had a wonderful beginning to our weekend after a hectic week of hospitals, funerals and taking kitty to the vet…what a week.

Poor Baby has been feeling dumpy and her eye is mattering and she’s sneezing and wheezing so off to the Vet we went on Thursday…and finally after the tune of $178, 2 bottles of Anti-biotic and having to get a urine sample from her (yeah, right!) we got her home. She has a cold and a virus and bladder infection. I feel so bad for her, she’s just so quiet and sweet and now she looks so sad. I don’t like it when my animals hurt…I don’t know what to do for them.

Soooo – anyway, the fun time! Doug’s cousin is here from Florida visiting her son/family and so her and two other cousins came over this afternoon and I cooked a pot roast dinner. Darlene (from Florida) has been so hungry for this so I told her I’d fix it – oh it was delicious if I say so myself!

We went to one of our favorite markets and had them cut these two roasts fresh – total weight is 7 lbs. Don’t they look good??

Just a bit of salt/pepper/bay leaves and onions and away it cooks

 
After the meat is done I remove it and put it in a baking dish, covered with foil, and then in a warm oven until the vegetables are done.
I use the juice from the meat, extra beef broth and 2 jars of Heinz Chicken Gravy to simmer the potatoes, carrots and onions in till tender.
When the vegies are tender I remove them and thicken the gravy

 
I knew we wouldn’t need much with the meal so I just made some fruit cups of peaches, pears and cherries. The girls brought a cake with them for dessert

 

I also made a Corn Bread but not from scratch. I found a most wonderful one by Marie Callenders – they used to have restaurants but I don’t think they exist anymore…but they were very famous for their Corn Bread. So try and find this product…it’s wonderful and tastes as good as homemade…very moist and sweet.

Tomorrow will be a day of relaxing and sewing on orders. I got a couple large ones so I’ll be busy for a few weeks. Doug will be going on deliveries so this gives me something to do.
