Hi everyone!
I don’t have much going on right now – been kind of a quiet week here….the temps have cooled down (ya, just when the central air got fixed yesterday…it was 62 here! lol) and it’s raining and 60 today. Isn’t that the way it works? Murphy’s Law I guess!
Stitched up something new yesterday too….
Daisy’s and Beeskeep Mat
Yesterday was a great day for bird watching…OMGosh I sound like I’m 80 years old! But just outside our screen room in our Service Berry bush
(here it is below - remember I posted it several weeks back)
and the Cedar Waxwings just love the berries – the first year we had the bush the berries got huge – plump and red…then the Cedar Waxwings came and stripped it clean…..didn’t see them for a couple years. Now this year they’re here again in hoards, but they aren’t giving the berries time to ripen…they’re eating them green…hope they don’t get belly aches!
Aren’t they a pretty bird?
We also have a little family of Wrens in the bush as well – they come every Spring and have their babies…which are in there chirping now….we can see them so clearly just sitting in our screen room – and it’s soooo cute when the babies come out for the first time.
Take a little tour with me….
We have this fabulous Perennial Farm near us called Northwind Perrenial Farm that we like to go visit not only to get our flowers but just as a little treat…the grounds are just beautiful. I tried to get the pictures off the disc I loaded them onto but only a few would transfer before it kept saying ‘not responding’….oh that frustrates me….so after trying to get pictures for the umpteenth time I gave up so what’s here is what you get….enjoy!
Hope all is well with everyone and enjoy your wonderful weekend
Karen
Your little bird friends are adorable!! We have a pair of morning doves here and I love hearing them!

ReplyDeleteKaren, That perennial farm looks like my kind of place!!! You are so lucky to live close to it. And your cedar waxwings sure are beautiful. I've always wanted to see one of those birds. Never have. And wrens, I think are the most cutest birds along with the nuthatch. I have wrens nesting in one of my bird houses too. Love listening to them sing.

Your bee keep mat is so pretty. When I am done with the penny rug runner I am working on (my first) I would like to try a design like yours. Oh I must be some where in my 80's to because I watch & wait for the birds to come to the feeder. I have a humming bird visiting my flower baskets this week. Oh my I sure would like to visit Northwind farm too. Thanks for sharing the trip.
ReplyDeleteOh Karen, those Cedar Waxwings are just beautiful. I don't think I've ever seen one before. I'd sure love to come shop with you! I've still got to get some flowers, maybe next week. Have a great weekend, Dawn
ReplyDeleteYour bee skeep mat is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteWe have been getting the same temperatures here. All it has done all week is rain, more rain and more rain. I am so ready for some sun! Haven't really had time to work in the gardens because of all this rain. My youngest started soccer and let me tell you, it's not fun sitting in the stands with pouring rain.
I love your new stitchery. It's perfect!
What a beautiful place to get flowers from. I would also just love going to walk the grounds.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
I love your birds!!! And i love the candlemat-so summery!

What beautiful photos of the birds and the farm. I also delight in watching the birds and I have many more years before 80. :)
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! I LOVE-LOVE your penny mat, Karen! :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your pics-I love to watch the birds too! Right now I'm enjoying our Orioles, they love grape jelly and the humming bird's sugar water! They make it known when their dish of jelly is EMPTY, too! :) So much fun to watch!
Have a happy week!
Hey Karen! Girl, I LOVE bird watching! I wish we had cedar wax wings down here. I don't think I have ever seen them in person before. We do have house wrens, which have several nests close to the house. One of my favorites is bluebirds. We have a birdhouse on one of our fence posts and bluebirds raise their families there every year. I love watching them.
ReplyDeleteThe perrennial garden place looks great. Too bad all of your photos wouldn't load. Maybe another time?
Last but not least, I love your penny mat! So sweet and perfect for this time of the year.
I hope you have a happy week!
So glad you have central air again! Your Daisy’s and Beeskeep Mat is so adorable! I just love your work.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you have a screened in area to sit and watch the birds. I wish I had more time for that but with three kids running around here, we don't get to stop and enjoy nature as much as I'd like. That's the main reason we enjoy our daily walks. Your bird pictures are wonderful-- I love the close ups!
