Christmas Decorating as promised!

You knew I’d come through didn’t you – sorry I couldn’t get them in my last post – it was just way too long to include these too.

And like I said – my decorating is very simple – barely there and I’m okay with that this year. Maybe next year I’ll feel better and want to get into it more but this is good for this year.

I won’t say any more just share with you my simple little gatherings around the house…Enjoy

I’ll start with the back door entrance (we use this as our main entrance)
Snowman we purchased at Simple Goods show last month from Too Far Gone Primitives

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our home this holiday season.
I’m sure there are more around but this is more than enough.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Today (Sunday) we were invited to friends in Sheboygan, WI. Kathy and Roger Fiegel live on Lake Michigan – yes, right on the edge! It’s basically their back yard…oh what a beautiful place. How peaceful and they spared nothing when they remodeled this ranch home to have the look and feel of a Colonial home.
I’m going to post photos of their home on my PictureTrail so be watching for it.

But for now – here’s part of today’s visit.
We got there around 11 and got to know each other again – not sure if you remember but Kathy and her husband brought us all that beautiful BITTERESWEET this past October.

They are wonderful host and hostess for sure. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch of mini hot ham and cheese sandwiches, fresh Pineapple with huge Blackberries, cold mixed vegetable dish of Broccoli, Cauliflower and Tomatoes.

After lunch we were visiting and saw something out in the back (their entire back of the house is windows to view the lake, so you don’t miss much in movement…it was a gorgeous FOX…well, I took about 40 photos of this beauty and out came another fox and they made themselves a little nest – just like no one was around – it’s in a subdivision!

Beautiful gifts Kathy gave me – lovely plate and another Mercury Glass Ornament to add to my growing collection.
Plate and Bell
They also took us on tour of Sheboygan and we got to see many beautiful homes along the lake as well as a drive through the Kohler Company/Community.

I pray you all have a safe and wonderful Christmas and thank you so much for visiting my blog and website and for all the wonderful orders from you. I’ll be back in production in January and hopefully I’ll have a few new items to share.

Bless you all

  50. I`ll be your 50th comment! Just getting around to blogging since Christmas! Your home is beautiful and your decorating is wonderful! If mine looked half as nice as yours I would be estatic! I like to decorate but hate putting everything away! Sometimes less decorating is good. lol Have a GREAT New Year! Enjoy your blog.

  51. Oh Karen...your home is just perfect for the Holiday Season :) I loved everything! You have everything displayed all so nicely...thank you for sharing!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family from mine.

  52. Your home is so beautiful Karen! I love all the greens, winterberry, and candles that you have placed throughout your home to give it that homey, Christmas-y feel. I didn't make it out this year to get some greens and winterberry (we have it all over our country roads out here) so I won't be showing any pictures of my Christmas decor. It looks like something is missing, lol. It's amazing how much that stuff just completes the look.

I just want to comment on every single picture, hehe! I love the back door display, especially for when you come home in the evening. Such a welcoming sight. The twig lights in the burlap pocket are so very cute especially with the greens.

The mercury glass tree is gorgeous Karen! It reminds me of the old days. You can tell by looking that they are very old and that vintage tinsel is so hard to find in good shape. Love it!

I have a greenery garland on my stairway too but with three kids running up and down the stairs all day long, it doesn't look as beautiful as yours!

Oh my, I can't believe Doug cut the picket fence piece by piece! He must be one patient man, haha! He did a wonderful job on it, it looks great around the tree. I love all the mini molds hanging on the wire tree, so adorable! That would be fun to keep out year round in the kitchen or dining room.

I think your fireplace and the family room tree are lovely, don't know what you don't like about either one but I think they are perfect! The stocking tree is adorable too, love it!

Sounds like Kathy and Roger have a beautiful home and view. How neat to watch the foxes, the picture of them touching noses is so cute! Great job on capturing that moment.

Always such a nice time to visit you and your lovely home Karen. I hope you are enjoying some relaxation time now.

  53. LOVE ~ LOVE all the photos you shared with us!! And the foxes were precious! Happy New Year Karen!

  54. There is definitely beauty in simplicity!! Your holiday home is breathtaking!

  55. Your home is wonderful! I loved each picture. Thank you for sharing.
