COLD SUNDAY

Well Christmas is fast approaching and I'm anxious!
But at the same time don't want it to come this fast....I'm like a little kid at this time of year - I want it here but not - guess I want to savor the moments.

Yesterday we went to do more Christmas shopping and why I try and go on the weekend is a mystery to me - busy, busy, busy!
And I guess that's a good thing for today's economy!

I was like a chicken with its head cut off....going in circles in the stores looking for STOCKING STUFFERS....why this is so difficult for me is puzzling.

I guess I make it a chore - but I will not stop the tradition...it's just that when you are looking for little items for 12 stockings it can be undaunting!

On our way home we stopped at our sons/family home and her mother and sister were there - they had a cookine baking day. How fun is that?

We had a taste of some really good cut-out cookies and then headed home....the weather was turning bad again with more snow and it was dinner time too.

Today will be a relaxing day - no shopping! Plus it's minus 4 below zero and windy!!!
I might wrap gifts and sew on a couple orders that just came in.

BY THE WAY.....I HAVE PUT MANY, MANY
ITEMS ON SALE ON MY WEBSITE
so come on over! www.kmprimitives.com

In regards to the post below....with our Stepfather, well we received a note card yesterday with this message in it

"We can't thank you enough for your thoughtfulness in treating us to a Christmas dinner.
We may not show it, but you are very special to us.
YOUR MOTHER would be very proud of you!
Love you much!"

Now wasn't that just sooooo nice!

I added some pictures of the mess I need to start wrapping that are in our guest bedroom!
Plus there are 3 huge boxes with Craftsman Tool Boxes in them in the screen room and a set of Pots and Pans in the basement that aren't even included in the pile! lol

Still need to shop for more stuffers but that's all.

Here are some not 'so interesting' pictures of Fridays snow

On our drive shopping Saturday

Doug doing what is becomming the 'normal' around these parts
Not many more places to put the snow on the bridge until they can remove it

Downtown

That's it for today - hope you are all staying safe and happy!

  1. It looks a lot like that here and we have more coming down right now. I just posted some pics of ours too. I have a few more stocking stuffers to get but most everything is have is wrapped. I needed my space for family stuck here because of the bad ice storm all last week so I had to wrap them or they would see them! LOL
Good luck getting it all accomplished. It feels good to check things off the list doesn't it?

  2. Your gifts in waiting to be wrapped reminds me of when my Mother was still living, she did the same laying the gifts out and had a massive wrapping day...Love your pictures of the snow...Happy Holidays, K

I do wish we had some snow for Christmas but doesn't look like we will be getting any!

  7. Yikes Karen!! All that snow. We have snow, but nothing like that, and since you like it, you can have it! LOL. Glad you're enjoying your Christmas shopping, and I hope you enjoy all that wrapping too. Jax

  8. Wow, Karen! Lots of wrapping to do! I try to do mine as I go. I have had presents bought (and wrapped) since July! LOL!! I find it too overwhelming to do it all at once in my older years. I used to do it on Christmas Eve when I was younger...
The snow reminds me of when we lived in the midwest. I always loved it then. But, now in NC we would be literally crippled for days! There just isn't enough equipment to take care of it.
We just have some very cold air and a couple of drippy, droopy days. I would much prefer the snow.
    Thanks for sharing the pics!
    Hugs,
    Shari

  9. Looks like your weather has come to us here in New England! We've gotten about 20 inches in two days and it's still coming down!

At least your gifts look pretty organized! Good for you!

  10. I can't believe I am saying this because it is so rare for Seattle but our place is looking much like yours with the crazy snow we are getting here. Snow is really rare in Seattle and we NEVER get it before Christmas/except this year~ I am so enjoying it! It really puts me in the Christmas spirit.
I wanted to come over and let you know my daughter had planned on naming her first girl Noel even if she was born in August (so yes it was planned-but more fitting around this time of year!) :)
I have yet to get our stocking stuffers! EGAD! And our family loves their stockings-I will probably be one of "those" people out on Christmas eve! It's all good.
I do hope you have a very Merry Christmas,
    Robin~♥

  11. Oh my...look at all that snow! We don't have any at all, but they said maybe a little Wed. I'd love to have a white Christmas, but not as much as you have!
Stocking are always my favorite thing, but the worse thing to shop for.
Oh...I've been trying to find out if the man who carved our Ark is still doing them, but no word yet. I'll let you know if I find out anything.
    Take care!

You've got lots of wrapping ahead of you. Put on some joyful Christmas Carols and have yourself a merry little wrapping party. :)
I too, struggle with the stocking stuffers, but boy am I glad I don't have to do 12 of them!
Hugs & blessings to you this Christmas season.
