That’s right…what’s up with this - two posts in a week – can you tell by now I’m in a chatty phase!
Guess it comes from always having to talk to myself because no one here listens – well, listen yes, just not contributing to the other end of the conversation…so it’s you all who gets my chatter! Lucky You!!!
So on with it….
First…I see today I reached 740 followers…WOW…thank you everyone for being so supportive – it’s because of you that I keep doing this blog.
Every now and then someone comments that isn’t a follower but I LOVE THAT…I visit different blogs too! They are all so wonderful but I think you all realize like me that you can’t get to everyone – so we do what we can.
I kind of have a little system (doesn’t always work but I try).
One day I will use the list on my blog sidebar to go visiting…another time I’ll go from the list on my dashboard – seems I get to some of the one’s I’ve forgotten about.
Sunday I decided to get my Spring flowers out. There were many. I keep buying ones that catch my eye so I think I have enough now. In fact I put a few back in the basement storage.
Here are the color piles I had to work with
Pinks…
And here’s where they all got placed
At the back door on the bench…
Tin in Dining Room…this is on my bench by the stairs, I also put it in front of the windows but Lola likes to play with them so not sure where they will land for sure.
Lavender on Red Pewter Cupboard…
Pinks on top of cupboard in kitchen…
A couple of Pansies on top of Mitten cupboard in kitchen…
Last week we found the Robbins building nests on two of our house lights – both fell down on their own because there just wasn’t a solid base to hold them up there – but there’s some left on the front porch light – maybe mama will come back – not sure.
I froze my ham bone from Easter so on Sunday I also made some Bean and Ham Soup – and I must say it really tasted quite good. Yesterday when we went to visit my aunt I took her a large jar of it and she was very happy! It’s something an 84 year old lady living alone just doesn’t make.
We ate lap top style that evening
(looks rather green like Pea soup doesn’t it…yuk!)
I also made some wonderful Chocolate Chip Cookies
Took auntie some too…
Okay, I’ve bent your ears long enough…but I have one more thing…
I made a new little table mat.
It’s not my design but a ‘Penny Lane’ design.
I revamped it for myself to use on my little table. It caught my eye and so I made it my own with buttons and larger leaves. I won’t put it for sale because it is someone else’s design regardless of the revamping but I wanted to share it with you.
Enjoy…
Karen

ReplyDeleteKaren, Good Morning, Love the Spring flower arrangements . And the candle mat is so pretty and fresh looking for Spring. The soup looks wonderful and yummy. Was so kind of you to share.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean,,, a one sided conversation. Think our men are great about listening but not responding. You would like my last post, Meet Miss Maggie. Guess when we get desperate, we will talk to anything. Enjoy reading your post and thanks for stopping by and visiting me. Have a great day.
Yea Spring is here! Your arrangements are pretty.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend!
Karen I write everyday because no one listens to me. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your flower arranging they look so good. The bean soup and cookies made me very hungry it is not even 8 in the morning and I want that for breakfast.
I love the button detail. I look forward to listening to you talk to yourself and other bloggers that have no one to listen too. B
Oh WOW...that is ALOT of flowers ;) They all look great where you placed them. I can't wait to have the real ones. Everything seems so late this year. It's so cold at night, not time yet for the annuals.
ReplyDeleteWhere hubby works, they all look so nice and prices are right but where would I put them so they would freeze yet. So I guess I have to wait and hope there will be some left :)
I LOVE the new penny rug you made. You work so well and the design is beautiful.
Have yourself a wonderful Mother's Day!
Karen, I am so glad you shared your spring flowers. You had mentioned in a comment on one of my posts that you put out spring items after Easter and I was wondering what you did. I love everything - just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sue
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI just love your colorful outdoor arrangements!
Now you have me all inspired! And that rug you made is simply gorgeous and I love the colors!
Isn't it nice that we are finally getting some spring weather?
About time I would say. We certainly had a long, long winter!
Hugs to you,
Cindy
740 followers? Geez, that's a lot of people to keep up with. That would be impossible to visit every blog, haha!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are beautiful Karen, love all the arrangements you've made! So fresh and pretty! I really like the lavender on the red pewter cupboard.
My daughter found a bird's nest that had fallen and was laying on the floor of our gazebo and 3 babies that didn't make it. =[ She had me come out to see what she found and I thought we were both gonna start crying, it was so very sad!
Your bean and ham soup looks delicious! I would love to taste it. I grew up on beans and ham but haven't made it since I left home.
Love your new table mat even though it's not one of your creations. Perfect for this time of year!
I hope you have a delightful week Karen and that it's full of sunshine~
Karen I love your flower displays especially the front porch metal container, too cool. I love ham and bean soup, I could eat the whole pot. The table mat is great also!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented! Love all the flowers and your soup looks delicious! Thanks for sharing all that goes on in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteI like your system of visitng. Love your flowers and those curtains are gorgeous. What fabric is that? It looks so thin but so elegant. Love all of your goodies.
ReplyDeleteI too try and mix up my blog visiting -- I'm here because you are on my blog list -- I'm a follower -- so today I was clicking on blogs I follow, to try and catch up. Other days I visit people who have just visited me -- or people with new posts on the dashboard. I wish I could get to everyone every day -- but that just isn't possible!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 740 followers; that's a most impressive number! :-) and well deserved.
I love your little mat. What kind of fabric do you use? Wool felt? Wool? I'm curious.
Thanks!
Cass
