HI EVERYONE,
I'm still here but been very busy with orders from my wonderful customers.
I had planned on getting my decorating done this week but it didn't happen - maybe this coming week if all goes the way I plan.
I did close all Christmas orders on my website so I don't get backlogged as Christmas gets closer and this is why you haven't seen me on your blogs commenting and looking at all your beautiful Christmas decorating and family happenings....I know I'm missing out on so much but rest assured I will visit you soon!
I did need to get out of the house yesterday and while out we went to a little local shop and I bought a 6 ft. Charlie Brown tree and today Doug tried to get it shaped up...but he couldn't understand why he had to 'shape it' - it looks like a tornado hit it so no matter what he did to it he said it didn't look much different - he did good though. Now I just need to adjust the branches where I want them.
I have a 3 ft. and 4 ft. tree like it and they fast became my favorite decoration for the season.
Anyway I wanted a larger one for my Mercury ornaments being the collection is getting bigger.
Hopefully after it's decorated it will look better.
One thing I'm not sure of is whether to put lights on t or not...any ideas on this?
So here's the 6 ft - still needing much work and I'm really not sure just where or which room it will go in - Doug says it is going to be our main tree...he's not bringing the other larger one up as long as we have this one. So I guess I had better work some magic here!
And YES IT LOOKS CRAZY and NO...IT'S NOT SHAPED THE WAY IT WILL LOOK IN THE END!
My 4 ft. tree that held my Mercury ornaments last year...not sure what I will put on it this year.
And my sweet little 3 ft. kitchen tree in the Tin Dough Riser...my original Charlie Brown tree and my favorite.
So this my dear blogging friends is why I'm MIA and will be yet for another week at least.
Blessings,
Karen
Oh Karen...I love those primitive trees and I don't think you can ever go wrong with a few white lights. Can't wait to see how you decorate the large one. Blessings from The Cabin In The Woods in N.C.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading the article about you in The Primitive Pantry Magazine. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this year's Christmas decor.
ReplyDeleteKaren I love your new tree and the other ones too. I think it will look great with your mercury glass ornaments. I don't know about the lights -I don't see how you could keep the cords from showing. Can't wait to see it all decorated.
ReplyDeleteOh Karen, hurry up ad fill those orders girl. You are missing so many talented women and their beautiful homes. I wasn't blogging this time last year and this holiday season I am so enjoying all the blogs and ideas.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your business is good especially with times as hard as they are for lots of folks. We miss you but will all still be here when things slow down for you. Love all your trees. I say, you can never have too many, but my Mister definitely does NOT agree with me. You have a great week. Don't work too hard.
Angela
Karen, so glad to hear you have many Christmas orders. The Charlie Browm tree is so prim. I also like white or clear lights. Cannot wait to see how you decorate it :)
ReplyDeleteOK, I just love those Charlie Brown trees!! I've never seen larger ones. I think your mercury ornies will look perfect on them!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteLove those trees! The big one is fabulous! I have never seen one that size either, but you can bet I'll be keeping my eyes open for one!
ReplyDeleteI am anxious to see if you decide to go with lights or not. I think a few white lights always look great, but it seems like it might be hard to place them on that kind of tree.
Your home is always decorated so nicely... thanks for sharing your pics!
i just love those scraggly trees! my fav tree is from the GW! its scraggly as heck and always looks the most prim :)
ReplyDeleteI found some real ugly "weed" pine trees growing out on our property in the fence line... begging hubby to cut em down for some prim outside trees this year one each side of the front door! :) have fun decorating!!!
Oh Karen - your trees are amazing!! I haven't even gotten Halloween put away yet - so you're missing nothing on my blog! (Can I just spend Christmas with you?) Gotta say - love that little guy in the tin riser....Absolutely primtastic! I've never seen the larger ones....but I definitely vote for lights....gotta have lights! Have fun my friend - and I'll be looking forward to Christmas a la "My Colonial Home" - knowing it will be absolutely awesome! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteEverything looks wonderful as always...I have those same trees and just love them!! can't wait to see the rest of your beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteJen :)
Hi Karen. I have a 6 ft. tree like your's and I used all tiny rice lights on it this year. I just love how it looks in the evenings. Have fun decorating, Dawn
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, Love your trees. I vote for the lights. This year I found in a country store that is near to my home a garland of tint lights. They are almost invisible and the cord is brown,so is easy to hide them in the branches, but having the light that you need. Can't wait to see them decorated.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen... Love the trees they are just adorable..I say yes to lights on the big tree..to show off your ornaments..
ReplyDeleteI think every one is trying to fill special sales orders and somewhat missing here in blog land..so don't feel badly!!
Happy Creating Girlfriend!!
Hugs

Your tress have so much character. I love them all. Even if you 6 ft doesn't have anything on it yet. That tree has a lot of potential. It is a very busy time of the year for us all and no one fault you one bit for not being able to visit blogs. Take care and good luck with all of you orders. -Steph-
ReplyDeleteOh Karen!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable!!!

Is it bad that now I want one too. :)

Hi Karen...LOVE the trees...I also LOVE the Charlie Brown trees...I have a six footer just like yours, and I always put on a few lights, not many, only a few...just seems to add a festive glow and I love the shadows they create. Thanks for the fun post...happy decorating, Tina
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! Good to know you are busy with orders but sure hope you get time to enjoy the season of joy & peace too!
ReplyDeleteI love those trees! I don't think I've seen or heard of them before. You will have lots of fun decorating them and I look forward to seeing them!

I am glad you have been busy, everyone loves your work!!! I can't wait until you decorate your tree, I know it will be lovely! Hugs, Lecia
ReplyDeleteKaren, I have the charlie brown trees in 2,3,4, and 7' and the 7' is hard to adjust but it is my favorite, I do use white lights (my fav.)and one year I did the mustard silicone and they looked great also. Not fun putting lights on but you will love it when your done. The only ornaments I am using this year are brown sugar cones and I am loving it.

Karen ~
ReplyDeleteI love your trees! I vote for white lights on the big one.
May I ask where you found your trees? I need a new tree but nothing I've seen even comes close to being primitive.
I hope you get your orders done soon!
Hugs :)
Lauren
I love those Charlie Brown tree Karen and everything you touch comes our great so I have no doubt the new one will be anything less.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful your orders keep coming in! I hope you get some down time to enjoy the season as well!!

I love your trees. I have one 6 foot one that I got from a garage sale 10 years ago but I haven't been able to find another one, where do you get them from? Kendra
ReplyDeleteI've been blogging this evening, lots to catch up on and I'm seeing all these wonderful Christmas pictures so I'm glad I'm not the only one that hasn't done my decorating yet... tomorrow for me!
ReplyDeleteI think some clear lights with your mercury ornaments would be beautiful, they would really shine with the light reflecting off of them.
I love those Charlie Brown trees in all sizes but I really love the tall one. I know whatever you decide will look lovely!
Have a delightful week! Don't work too hard, make sure you have some fun mixed in there somewhere. =]

Your trees look great! Take care and BREATHE! Hope that you get all of your orders done, I am turning them down daily, hopefully they remember that and come back earlier next year. I have four to go, can't wait to get them done, but taking a break to decorate today.
ReplyDeleteCathy
I just love those trees and would love to start replacing my 10 year old artificial ones with them. But there are not many prim shops down here in the sunny south, at least not any near me. Do you know of a place I can order them from or a different name I can google them?
ReplyDeleteKaren, I really love all your prim Charlie Brown trees...I assume they are artificial because you mention how you used Mercury Glass last year. I have never seen anything like them around here. Where do you buy them?
ReplyDeleteMelinda
I love your prim trees! Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteKimberly
Karen, if the boys and hubby would let me, I would only have the charile brown trees! Love them!!!! OLM
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable Karen! I so would love to have one of those!
ReplyDeleteThese trees are adorable - I love them! I'd do lights on the bigger one unless it's in a well lit room, but that's just me.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for stopping by, come back again!
Leann
