Like I said…”Am I mistaken”…Christmas should not be here already should it?
Where has this month gone – the months are just flying by and I haven’t even caught up with last month it seems!
The surgery put me way behind and it’s even worse because I can’t do much for myself…just light duty and only things I can reach and not lift – where does that leave a person….well, laying on the sofa is getting mighty boring.
Except for dr. appointments, I did start getting out last week for some shopping and a few other things.
We went to Janesville for some Christmas shopping – what little bit I could do that is.
So first let me back up here a bit – Christmas shopping!!!
THANK GOODNESS for such wonderful children we have.
Our son’s and daughter in-laws took over shopping. They all went out and bought their children’s gifts for us – they are even wrapping them – I feel so blessed.
That just left stocking stuffers and groceries for us. Not a bad deal huh?
So – back to getting out and doing things finally
I took it slow though.
I took it slow though.
While we were in Janesville Doug took me to lunch at Hacienda Real. One of my favorite places to eat and especially because they have the best Chicken Chimichanga’s. They are the closest I’ve had to what Chi-Chi’s had.
We also had a baking day – it went well with Doug mostly doing the rolling and cutting and I manned the oven and taking them off the baking sheets.
Gotta love the wonderful back brace – then combine it with an apron
…new fashion statement!
…new fashion statement!
I guess I really don’t have much else to chat about because I haven’t ‘done much’.
As for our Christmas decorating - Doug did all….did I say I am blessed? Well, I really mean it!
He did a lot more than I thought he would do….I said just the tree was enough but he went a bit further.
I haven’t been taking many pictures lately I guess mainly I haven’t felt like it.
But I did get a few from around the house….

I hope your back brace isn't too uncomfortable. Yes your husband did a great job. Your house looks wonderful. The hall's wallpaper is one I almost put everywhere, just love it. Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! Doug did a fantastic job and your brace is definitely stylin'!!! Merry Christmas to you - hopefully you can dodge the raindrops. Good grief, it's raining buckets over by me, I even heard a rumble of thunder. Not exactly a white Christmas, but my heating bill will be verrryyy thankful, as will my wallet. Merry Christmas to you and wishes for a happy and healthy 2016! Jane

So glad to see you up and around. I really know what you mean. I had surgery in Oct. so I'm just a bit further along, but not by much. We are both blessed with husbands that help so much. My DH did the majority of decorating too. I helped as I could. I still haven't put my stitched pillows on the couch. I spend too much time taking breaks there! I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!! Take good care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say that your home is just beautiful and so warm and welcoming!!
ReplyDeleteYou are like me when I broke my toe in the Fall. I could not decorate at all! From your pics, looks like hubby saved the day with decorating. Those cookies look yummy! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Janice
ReplyDeleteYou look great for all you have been through. Can't believe your making all those cookies! That much is back breaking, standing and bending.
ReplyDelete***Merry Christmas and Happy New Year***
