GOSH, I'M HERE SOONER THAN I THOUGHT!!

This months has flown by for me - maybe because
we had this big project to do.
So in the last post I showed that we were making our first ever painted floor cloth.
It's turning out just how we wanted it to.

3 coats of base color

Turning the hem - we used two sided carpet tape.
Tried the Gorilla glue but it didn't work.

Starting the border

Border finished

Made grids for the center designs

Ready to stencil designs - we were going to do
the one design in black but decided against it.

Stencil designs

Designs finished

Painting on antique glaze

Antique glaze wiped off - I like it!!!
Next step is 3 coats of latex polyurethane and then it is done!!!

Comparison - antique glaze is on the right.

A couple of my newest designs I made into patterns

Love Birds

Peacock

Fraktur vase of flowers

Designing punch needle patterns

The rest of these aren't my designs
but ones that will be for sale 'finished' at some point

This is about all I can add this post - all this has kept me/us busy.
Thanks for stopping by today!!

    1. Hi - and thanks so much for your nice comment.
I used Rust-Oleum Antique Glaze Java Brown. We got it at Home Depot.

  10. Hi Robin:
As others have said and I agree, you do beautiful work. Just knowing what to do in the floor cloth amazes me. It turned out really super. When I read your bog it just mimicked my life in the last year. I lost my sister to Covid last December and I ended up with two surgeries for kidney stones. I have great admirations for anyone who gets through these. This is the third time for me and some of us apparently just produce these terrible things.
Thanks too for being so forgiving about Pinterest. Love the sampler you are working on. By now you have probably finished it. Once I get over the Vertigo, I do hope to return to my stitching. Love reading your blog Robin.
    Have a great life
    Shari
